Before Thought:
The one that took him a few summers to write. Simmons claims there's a year and a half of columns in this one, which sounds about right, since his column output has gone way down in the last few years (hooray for podcasts). He says the narrative of this book , is that he's trying to figure out the greatest players and teams of all time, and what the guidelines and rules should be to do that. It takes him 800 pages to do so.

After Thought:
Now that is a basketball book. Easiest 700 pages i've ever read. He didn't get too crazy with the Celtic Pride and putting MJ as #1 in the Pantheon was a no-brainer, but i love reading about guys you don't hear about anymore like Rick Barry and Billy Cunningham. Good stuff.
